I remain baffled as to their thinking in this matter. They could have just set it off for the initial install and a present a permission alert if and when a new user toggled it on. (I keep mine on Moderate and it's not at all that intrusive.)

It's been the understanding many of v12/14 protections' efficacy were somewhat idle in Win10 and largely ineffective in Win11. So, yeah, they were "removed" in the re-design. But if one is running Vista, v12 is still good-to-go. I'm not a marketing guru but recognize that keeping the SpyShelter name was a tough call. Registry Integrity Control is the only protection removed since v15 was released. (Sidebar: I was a beta tester.) I find SpyShelter 15's core mission to be exactly as advertised, unique in several of its feature sets and a valuable element in my layered (bulletproof, of course) protection scheme. "On-demand: Zen Browser" - I didn't know there was a Zen Browser. Looks interesting; thanks for the heads-up.
Spyshelter used to have much more granual process controls, 30+ different toggle protections for each process. Now those are all gone. It used to be able to prevent process termination and manipulation. And let's not forget that keystroke encryption is gone too. That's all gone now. It used to be able to auto-reenable protection if it was disabled. That's gone now. That's what I mean. SS is a shell of what it once was.
