I only use CF- either the 8012 Firewall only version, or the current Beta with the AV component unchecked (which results in only the FW being installed). Regarding Defense+, this is a term which isn't currently used, but I assume that this is in reference to the HIPS Module.. In my preferred setup both the AV and HIPS are disabled as neither adds in any way to protection, and the HIPS especially may lead to user confusion and issues if unneeded Rules are created. Comodo works Best with any tweaking done Least.
I personally rarely use the HIPS module, but from the little that I have there has been no apparent conflicts. However the possibility exists that if a person adds an ill-conceived rule conflicts could occur (essentially a User created bug).
@cruelsister "Comodo, both the current released version (8012) as well as the Beta run just fine on Windows 11" Do you have the links for the current released version (8012)as well as the link for the Beta? Always the best, and many thanks!
The current official build (8012) here (choose "free firewall"): https://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ and the Beta (8124) here: https://download.comodo.com/cis/download/installs/9020_beta/CIS_2024_beta_3.exe and in Setup uncheck the AV component for just the FW.
OK I see, so in other words, you never really use the HIPS, so you wouldn't know if it actually alerts about certain stuff. Comodo really needs to make a new consumer website, because they now have too many different versions. But the reason I asked is because I'm trying to figure out if SS 15 will ever get certain features that are currently missing. On the other hand, HMPA protects against APC code injection and process hollowing, so this should also be possible in SS 15. It probably also depends on the skills of the developers. I'm guessing it's SS 14 since I also had problems with it. SS 12 works just fine.
Trial expired. The in 15 free version work only Rules and Security Application Control . I would purchase a lifetime license, but don't exists.
@cruelsister From the above post, # 481. Many Thanks! Really, appreicate your kindness. Make it a great one, that is today. and tomorrrow an even better.
It's possible, industry-wide, the lifetime licensing model is done with. Anyhow... SpyShelter is open for business: https://www.spyshelter.com/purchase/ As of this posting, the discount is still available: https://www.spyshelter.com/subscription Cheers.
SpyShelter 15.0.2.503 released, SS 15 no longer in beta testing https://forum.spyshelter.com/t/spyshelter-15-0-2-503-now-available-whats-new/93
BTW, did you guys see this SS 15 test? I thought it was a bit of a pointless test because it looked at if SS 15 could block .exe files from loading, if I understood correctly. I would like to see it in action against already infected machines and if SS can block malware via the AV scanning module which it now has. Also, all of the excitement seems to have gone away about SS 15. I wonder if this is because people are already quite happy with it, or that it's simply not good enough when compared to SS 12. https://odysee.com/@Shadowra:f/SpyShelter-Pro-2024:7
"Redesigned SpyShelter’s Activity and Rules tab." I am still confused, because I don't see any change in the look:
Just found out over at their forum, auto-update is not yet active. I'll get around to an old-school update on each of my two Win10pro systems in day or two. Cheers.
Cool that they added this. Now they still need to add more of the HIPS features, because from what I understood it still doesn't monitor stuff like code injection and driver/service loading.
Hello everyone, Can anyone upload version 12.9 of SpyShelter Premium Edition. I have a lifetime license but I missed this version. Thanks in advance, Sincerely
