spybot software

    i just got a new computer and i need somthing to block the popups someone told me to go to spybot but that it is very hard to use does anyone havre any suggestions
    i heard about popup manaer but havent used it yet ANY HELP OUT THERE WOuLD BE APPRECIATED thanks very much

    Hi jeanray,

    Getting a popup-blocker like the one from Panicware is one way, but there are several kinds of popups.
    Roughly three categories.

    Messenger spam: cure or block them with your firewall.

    Popups from sites you visit:
    PopUpStopper will work great, as will other programs like it.

    Popups caused by spyware installed on your computer:
    Spybot S&D or AdAware will be able to remove most of the culprits.
