LMAO ! I had no idea that anyone that cares about their computers has used this stuff..AKA...crap....since 2003 . Wow ! Time to move on folks . This software died years ago . Yes it is still available but , will find nothing that almost every other similar program will find . Actually , this thing always found less after 2003 as so many vendors came along with much better software . Paid or free , this is not a choice that knowing and serious members would use .

I just turned on my VM on which S&D2 was installed and used the update function and it said there were no updates even though it had not been turned on for 2 weeks :S

Yes, it's quite messed up. When I tested it, it automatically checked for file version status or something like that, and always reported that everything was up-to-date. But, I knew new updates came out, so something had to be wrong. Then, after a few attempts, including to click Update and check status, it finally downloaded the missing updates.

Spybot v2 is a total mess, from both GUI and technical aspects to most people I know and that were using the previous version (for its immunization).

Then again, those folks still haven't heard about ASLR either, so...

Yeah, the only reason I was still using v1 was for immunization as well..

I also tried the update and check status multiple times, including Beta updates, but it didn't work.

Well I actually have to give credit to Spybot.

My room-mate's PC was infected with browser redirector. All the pages except Facebook.com were redirected to -cracks4free.in**-

After trying Adwcleaner+SAS, I though that maybe Spybot catches it. It has been long time since I've used Spybot. After update I let it run and surprisingly it found what I was after :)

    5+ for doing the job!
