First. I am running windows XP , Firefox and AVAST anti-virus.

This morning I removed 3.5 and tried to download the new version 2x. The first time I downloaded I went to find in in my program files and it wasn't there. Re-started thinking it would appear and nothing. Used the find feature and it also found nothing. Went back and used alternate download site and it said Spyblaster 4.0 was already there and did I want to write over it! So I downloaded again and the same thing happens...it is no where to be found on this computer! Obviously it recognizes that 4.0 is on the computer when I try to re-download, so why is my computer not finding it. Where is it??!!

    Help...thanks,

    Vera

In Firefox go to Tools\options\Main. Check under downloads to see where they are set to go.

When you download setup files it would place them in the folder you directed them to be downloaded to. If you are unable to recall which folder that is, I suggest you do a search of your hard drive for the setup file spywareblastersetup40.exe.

I have firefox set to ask me where to download files.
When I went to download the new version of Spyblaster (2x) it was supposed to go to Program files. The problem is that it's NOT there and my computer doesn't find it! Yet when I try to re-download it recognizes that spyblaster 4 is already on my system!

Normally, when you download a program, you are downloading the programs' installer file, which then needs to be run to install it.
Not a bad idea to (a) download it to the desktop, and run it from there for installation into the program files, or, (b) if you want to keep the installer, useful for re-installing programs, create a folder called, say, downloaded programs, somewhere in the file system.
That way your "program files" folder won't be full of non pertinent entries.
