speedtouch 585 sidd broadcast

    HI Anyone
    My problem i have is when i disable broadcast sidd my computer does not connect to my wireless connection,ive fixed the problem by allowing the sidd to be broadcasted but im worried about the security implications of doing this.Is there anything i can do to rectify this.Ive reset my modem router and set everything up again only to have the same problem.I have windows vista home 32bit with latest service pack.

    Hello,

    There's no security implication in having your ssid broadcast. It's like saying what are the security implications of having your IP visible.

    It's nothing special. Just an identifier to find you on the network. Keep your wireless session encrypted (preferrably with WPA), use a strong password and you'll be fine.

    Thats good,ive used shieldsup site to produce a long password for wpa2.
