I don't have much faith in these test results.

Currently there would be speedometer 2.1.
Any other speed tests tween browsers that you think are more reliable?

There are some more I see in a search but don't know anything about so I don't mention anything. Here is my score after installing a new graphics processor. Prev. score was like 113-115 (page 1 of this thread). Windows 10 drive.

Edit: oops--tested w/ Firefox 113.0. It's now trying to apply the latest update .Tested with 3 ext. enabled: uBO 139K network/230K cosmetic | Trace | Skip Redirect

That test measures the speed of the Internet connection.
Not the speed of the browser.

Retested today to see how I was travelling, and lo and behold, my result was 335 on Linux Mint 21.1 running Vivaldi 6.0.2979.18
Using Brave my result was 303 - Brave Version 1.51.114 Chromium: 113.0.5672.92 (Official Build) (64-bit)

    I found this:

    https://browserbench.org/

But with my modified settings, it is difficult to make a choice between Firefox and Edge.
On JetStream2 test with Firefox I get a result of "infinity".
With SpeedoMeter I get a result of "infinity" with Edge.

On the MotionMark test alone, Edge, outperforms Firefox with a remarkable score.

Well, I tried the MotionMark just to see how my new gpu would behave and there was no problem--fans never came on, no stress or heat. But I am amazed at the "terrible" performance of Firefox relative to Chrome, my test browser.

    Firefox: 522.82
    Chrome: 2071.02

I don't quite know how to put these scores into context. Are they bad? I dunno. :cautious:
Yes, it seems Firefox is lagging relatively badly on here too. But in real-time use, I don't notice anything "bad" w/graphics. Much less buffering in YouTube, better rendering, etc. So...there. :)

Edit: Firefox out of Sandboxie: 787.09 vs. 522.82 sandboxed. Hmmm. :doubt:

I missed both of the other two available tests until I read the last post.

    MotionMark test results
    Vivaldi 1137.91
    Brave 1231.10

    JetStream test results
    Vivaldi 329.81
    Brave 325.46

Speedometer takes around two minutes to complete.
MotionMark test is run for about five minutes.
JetStream also only takes around two minutes to complete.

    Well, I am evaluating a new Firefox-based borwser--credit:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/floorp-browser-from-japan.451862/

And first impressions were very positive--it actually seemed faster than Firefox here. So I decided to run the speed test and compare. These are both in Windows 10.

    floorpbrowser speed.PNG

 Oh well. Subjectively still seems very snappy. :)

This popped up on my rss feed, so not being able to resist, I ran another test..
My result was 308 on Linux Mint 21.1 running Vivaldi 6.1.3035.111 (64-bit).

This is an area I don't really have much interest in, but I'd still be very interested to know why I have this massive 20+% increase.

Looking at all the tests in this thread, the results are so wide-ranging, that I'm not sure I can trust this test :cautious:

Fwiw, I tested Firefox and Floorp on updated openSUSE Tumbleweed:

    Firefox
    firefox test02.png

    Floorp
    floorp test02.png

This was a second test of both, each using only uBlockO with same settings and filter lists. In each test there was <5 points difference, with Firefox being slightly faster. @plat, are you still trialing Floorp, and have you found any issues with it? I'm still using it with a most positive experience :thumb:

Sure am, @wat0114 :). It is not my default, though, not at the moment. But it's earned its right to be on here indefinitely!

In interesting site is https://arewefastyet.com where Mozilla constantly compares Firefox with Chromium and Chrome on several benchmarks for some platforms. For Speedometer, e.g., you can see that on Windows Firefox is now on par with Chrome, on Linux Firefox is still a bit slower. For other benchmarks sometimes Firefox is faster, sometimes Chrome. Note that on all charts lower figures on the vertical axis are better.

    EDIT: Also mentioned here.

Needless to say that your experience might vary depending on which hardware/drivers are used, if WebRender or hardware acceleration is enabled etc.

My Firefox is faster than Edge on this test:

    Firefox:
    Firefox.jpg

    Edge:

    Edge.jpg

But Edge resolves the loading of images from various Web sites faster.
I don't disable any extensions to get a test more like my actual browsing.

    Did you let them know?

In fairness, a Google search of "browser speedometer" does not come up with that version, at least in the first several results.

I am no longer subscribed to that forum.
It will probably be a version under development.

I used 2.0 when it came out. Never used it or anything newer since then except today to see if it still works. :D
