    What about Google Nexus and custom firmware? Still nice to see this though.

    technically while it is open it does come with a locked bootloader. I don't think this one requires any special unlocking. It reminds me of the Nokia N900. Awesome phone, you don't need to hack anything - you want root? just type: sudo gainroot and you got it. That's how a real OpenSource phone SHOULD work. It's also why I can't wait for ubuntu mobile (and inevitably all of the other distros hopping on afterwards, like Mint and Fedora). Android is a great platform but for those who really love linux we want more :D Like what meego could have been. I must say this Spark looks like a good start.
