Sophos Top Ten Viruses October 2002

Certainly does not surprise me. Corresponds nicely in what I see in my firewall logs.
It's just my opinion, but I think we are just at the gateway of seeing a rash of very sophisticated, highly effective worms and viruses such as never imagined.
In visiting certain places, what is being offered to the script kiddies for their downloading pleasure is getting nastier and nastier. The feeling I used to get was lets show them how smart we are and what we can do if we want to. That has been replaced with "wanna do some real damage?", try this baby.
And then we have the GRC situation with hackers.
Maybe soon the internet will go thru a complete change to deal with the nature of internet dangers. Who knows?
