The installed programs aren't in Add/Remove Programs section like Yahoo Messenger, Firefox and some other programs. Where am I supposed to go to in order to uninstall them? Those programs used to be there under add/remove programs before i got my computer recovery (since i had a virus that messed up my computer). After computer recovery, some of the programs aren't in add/remove programs even though the programs are already installed.

Would it be ok to download Firefox from the official site and install the new version of it without uninstalling the old version of Firefox? Would that also bring Firefox back to the Add/Remove programs if I install it over it?

    Are you running Windows XP?
If so, sometimes you can find uninstallers in this path: Start> all programs.
Mousing over the programs should indicate whether an uninstall option is available there.

I don't know if installing FireFox over the top will provide a listing in Add/Remove programs or not.

If installed, an actual system file will be referenced by the uninstall string. Furthermore I'd follow-up on Saraceno's advice.

    hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall

    *I trust someone's working on a merge ....
