Some comments

I've been using Acronis TI9 for a couple of weeks now and am reasonably happy but I have some comments and problems to get off my chest.

Naming and grouping of functions
The 13 or so functions are scattered around the window with no apparent thought.

• The names of groups of functions is very inconsistent, varying between tools, tasks and operations.
• 'Show log' icon appears four times, not counting the menu option.
• The view menu activates a "Common tasks bar"(left) which is a list with the heading 'Tools', not 'Tasks' at all.
• The 'Tools' on the Common Tasks Bar are the not the same as 'tools' in the main page body.

Why not simply list everything on the left? Call them all the same thing (tools, tasks, operations, functions, whatever) but group with meaningful categories?

Maybe this isn't quite it, but you get the idea:

(the first two could be simplified to Manage Secure Zone and Manage Startup Recovery.
And why "recovery" instead of "restore"? everyone understands restore and it doesn't clash with "startup recovery")

"Active tasks"
- Why call this 'active' tasks? They're not really active most of the time and 'tasks' are used above.
- 'My backups' might be better.

Scheduled tasks Problems

• The height of the page split above this pane isn't remembered.
• Last run time and last result column data are not saved.
• Status column displays the same as schedule. More helpful would be 'running', 'inactive', (?)...
• Provide a permanent view of backup properties instead of mouse hover data which disappears before you can take it all in.
• When creating a scheduled differential backup it always shows up as incremental.
• Wizard for differential and incremental backups wrongly states the selected archive is password protected.
• Backup doesn't run at shutdown as scheduled
