    Hi Coyote Creek,

Can you try and see if fixing these two helps.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {09F0F280-FB9A-481B-B69A-CB00DC44D027} - C:\PROGRA~1\ADVANC~1\POPUPJ~1.DLL

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {77712A64-F30B-47C8-A363-CDA1CEC7DC1B} - C:\PROGRA~1\ADVANC~1\ADVANC~1.DLL

Then reboot. We will have to find another PopupBlocker if it works, but that's another concern.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Re: New Log

The home page keeps changing to "about:blank". It's a search engine, or so it appears. When I open internet explorer it pops up, as well as when I close internet explorer. I am using Spy Ware Guard, which prompts me when it's trying to change. I could not install SpyWareBlaster. It says that there is a problem with the hard drive or a virus.

    Download: http://tools.zerosrealm.com/dllfix.exe

Doubleclick it and install in folder of choice on the root drive, in your case C:\

Run start.bat and press option 1. 'output.txt' will be created in the folder

    Do post that report

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Re: New Log

Run start.bat again and choose option 2. Hit '1' and enter dll name manually:
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\COM.DLL

Download and run AdAware : http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ (make sure you have latest updates) and run it.

Also run CWShredder finally to clean up other entries

    Regards,

    Pieter
