Which software firewalls have stateful packet inspection?
Outpost Security Suite - I'm pretty sure.
Windows built in firewall.
Surprisingly, I am told OA does not support any kind of SPI.
Probably they have a specific definition of SPI. Can OA distinguish between different packets received (e.g. solicited/unsolicited) ? I beleive so. You should ask the person who informed you about OA, what he/she exactly mean for SPI. Most firewall including windows firewall have some sort of SPI nowadays
Jetico Personal Firewall
CHX-I Packet Filter OR CHX-I Security Toolkit
I think Comodo too.
I think sygate too,
although this is a old firewall
but is still very good
The outdated old kerio 2.x pfw.
Yes it has SPI.
I miss that one. Are there any other fans out there?..
I'm looking for something like it for Windows 7.
blahsmith, can't really find a simple packet filter for win7.
Only closest slightly resembling soft is the windows built in firewall.
But detailed logs are not there as in the old kerio.
Usually use "netstat -anob -t 1 > c:\netstat1.txt" in the command to log the connection attempts and activities, for debugging and packet checking.
Separate names with a comma.
