I have recently installed ESS 4.0 BE on our servers (complete with remote admin and console) and starting to roll out to the client machines. I'm having issues with updates. Smart Security's own firewall is blocking the server and clients from getting updates. When I disable the firewall, it will update. I guess I could create a firewall exclusion to allow Eset's server (why on earth would I have to do this?).

What I would really like to do is have updates be brought down to the server once and then the client machines go to my internal server for the update file. I followed the directions for creating a mirror, but frankly the directions for doing so are not very clear and they don't seem to include anything on setting the clients to go to a mirror instead of to Eset's public server.

    Help?

installing ESS on servers is not a good idea. its recommended that you install nod32 on server, your ess un and pw is valid for nod32 also (recommended settings).

you need to enable mirror in console (via internal http is most common way, 2221 is default port), update server for your clients in this case would be http://server:2221
