I am considering getting the T-Mobile's $50/month Unlimited (Talk, Text, Web) No Contract Plan.

After 100 MB/month of 4G Data, T-Mobile throttles the Data to 2G. I plan to use the phone primarily for Talk, limited texting and limited web browsing.

In your opinion, how much of an impact would there be on web browsing with 2G? I realize that I can probably forget video streaming due to excessive buffer times.

    Thanks in Advance.

Where i live 3G is as good as it gets and in some areas theres only 2G but the difference in speed between the two is fairly significant and it definitely tests my patience at times. I can only imagine the huge difference between 4G and 2G but you'd definitely be able to chew through that 100mb with 4g pretty quickly. If you're a patient man and stick to mobile websites or stop ur browser downloading images you can probably get by on 2G.

I am also on the same package. You can do everything on 2G except video streaming. I do not miss it much as I am always surrounded by WiFi. The only time I need mobile data is when I am driving and I seldom use the phone during driving.

By the way, google maps and driving directions work fine on 2G.

If T's 2G and AT&T's Edge are similar (and I think they are), it will work but it's pretty slow.

Agreed that 100 MB is not much. Monitor it heavily. I go through well over 200 MB each month and do little but email and program updates. NO social networking or games!

Hahahaha 100MB is almost nothing if you load a couple websites everyday.
