For the past two days I have been seeing a very slow sign in process. They have been wanting a couple of confirmations and I always have to wait for them to send me their code so I can continue with my transaction. My wait for the code is 15 to 30 mins. Anyone else seeing this? Historically the 15 or 30 mins has been pretty much instantaneous. I understand they are more active the usual due to virus. I am thinking they recently hired another 100,000, thereabouts, to handle the load
Rainwalker, I've read that sometimes two step veriifcation on Amazon can create huge wait times to login. If you are using two step you might try turning it off. Otherwise, as to your question, I'm not seeing anything even close to those sign in times. Another quick thought, if you have a VPN you could try logging in from various locations to see if that makes a difference. Good luck getting to the bottom of it.
Lately I've been getting the SMS code straight away, but one day a few weeks ago I wasn't getting the code at all. Hours later I started to receive a bunch of codes from my previous attempts. That's only happened the once so far. I find it interesting that I can sign in with Firefox from any machine on my network, any OS without problems, but if I use Chromium Edge or Brave I have to complete a CAPTCHA every time.
Lately I have been seeing what you saw. Long waits (now more the 30 min) after which I will be swamped with a number of codes. I tried Brave and Firefox and about the same. I will try turning off 2-step whenever I can get logged in. Jezzzz, one would think.................OK, thanks Krusty.
Yeah had my first SMS last week. On a vpn on another country tho. Amazon seem to do this every so often ime
I gave up last night after an hour waiting for the code from them. This morning I had eight codes waiting in my mailbox. I have been using Amazon since the earliest days (books only) and it has always been smooth. They need to get their act back together. I do not use 2-step. Thanks for responding trott3r.
Probably a short-term thing. Every great once in a while I'll have trouble signing in with just user name and password. I chalk it up to them doing some sort of maintenance. Amazon's traffic is huge.
