After 24 hours the program shows only 1% completion of the disk copy from an external USB drive to a new drive. I am using the latest build on a Dell Latitude c840. Can I stop the copy? At this rate my old 28 megs will take a month to copy and I would just as soon reinstall everything!!! Any suggestions for speeding things up? Could it be that problems with the old disk are causing the slow down? Any and all advice welcome.

Also, I think not telling folks that TI8 is basically an upgrade path for disk migrate is a little unethical when promoting the purchase of disk migrate bundled with the anti spyware stuff. I'm still playing with everything to see what is worth keeping (I am having my doubts any of it is) but I would not have ordered the bundle if I knew disk migrate was redundant.

    Hello dixiebuyer,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

What is the size of the image you are restoring? Are you restoring via USB 1.1? To stop the process you may press "Cancel" button. However, there is no way to speed up the process once it is launched.

    Thank you.

Did you check the image before starting the restore. If the image checked out, then I wouldn't think problems with the disk you imaged would be why restoring is so slow.

When you made the image, were you running Windows and saving directly to the external USB drive? Roughly how long did that take?

For the restore did you boot with the TI Recovery CD?
