Hi, I was wondering if v4 is going to intorduce a silent or gaming mode where firewall prompts wont pop and force full screen games to the background.

    Thanks!

You are using the firewall's "Interactive mode," I assume? Change it to "Automatic mode" during gameplay or "Learning mode" if you want ESS to automatically create a rule for any programs connecting to the internet. If the game won't work if it's on Automatic mode, then you should probably just turn it off altogether.

I agree with Norky. A gaming mode would be good. I always use interactive mode, and don't see why I should have to change it to Automatic to play a game. It's always nice to know what's going on, but in a middle of a game it is not, and such actions/alerts should be suppressed.

I would like the option where ESS detects a full screen app and makes appropriate changes for me so I don't get kicked out of the game.

That's a bit much for ESET's lightweight approach to internet security.

I disagree with that, but that's neither here nor there. Just a simple "something I would like to see" is all.

Yeah, I've seen that. But maybe, to use as a function.
Auto-switch to gamemode settings when fullscreen application is used?

I mean Norton are apparently so proud about that future,
can be used as an custom future.

    Just a thought. :)

I was indeed hoping for an automatic feature :)

Or atleast something to stop the Update pop-up, as I only update once a day, at 5am, but still I sometimes play late into the morning and it's annoying to get a pop-up that minimizes your full-screen application.

Anyway, it doesn't require too much code to make ESET understand if the computer is in a full-screen application. Or maybe some kind of list that you can add .exe files to, so when they're running, ESET won't make any kind of pop-ups, update nor program internet usage.

    Hello,

In the Advanced Setup window under User Interface → Alerts and Notifications is a button labeled Advanced Setup. Clicking on it brings the Alerts and Notifications window which has two user-selectable options, Display only notifications requiring user interaction and Display only notifications requiring user interaction when running applications in full screen mode. There are some additional options there to fine-tune the displayed messages, but this is where that particular option can be configured.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
