    Nice New Avatar LowWaterMark! :)
but it's always sad to loose a pet...
    :'(

Now, I think it's interesting to compare the wolf with the Siberian Husky I posted earlier (reply #19)...Quite similar!

Hey Cochise, we could put a small plow on your sled and you and your dog team could help me plow the snow off the streets and have your fun at the same time. ;) :D

Sorry this is late, been working a LOT. Great pictures Uguel. I've got 2 dogs. They can sled pretty good all by themselves on a thick coating of ice. They love the snow. They run as fast as they can and roll around in it. It's really fun to watch.

Well, you are lucky! There are plenty things you can do with sleigh dogs! You can go for the whole day sleighriding through the forest or into country trails! It's good exercice for them and you....Horses panick easily when they see skidoos or four wheels vehicles but dogs are more relaxed and confident fellows!

LOl! My Germam sheppard did that with bikers!!!
Had to run after the dog to stop it. He thought I was "playing"and started going in circles between me and the poor biker, I wasn't, and the biker was scare to death!!!
Fortunately, he never bit anyone. He was just playful and all! :)

Hey Uguel! Even though I sent you an IM, you deserve a more public acknowledgement for your caring nature and efforts! May God bless you and yours. When I get enough posts I owe you a warm, loving and well deserved "karma cookie!" Pax! :-*

They are a wonderful breed of dog! Because they are not too far removed from the wolf breed and the "pack" mentality, they bond very well with we humans (we become the "pack" family!) In fact, that's one of the drawbacks of having a dog of this nature. They get almost too bonded to the human "pack." They are not good watchdogs as they consider everyone their friend! Nanda is my shadow around my home. She follows me wherevever I go and kinda gets underfoot much of the time. In my truck she wants to crawl into my lap while I'm driving. That's why I have a short web leash clipped into the passenger's door that I clip her to (to keep her on her side of the vehicle!). The only person I ever saw her be negative to was a guy that walked past us on a beach on the Oregon Coast! When this guy approached, her hackles went up and she began to growl from deep in her throat. I've not seen that behavior before or since! I'm convinced that Satan or the Anti-Christ walked past us that day! Spooky!!! I'm just glad he didn't notice us or speak to us!

Alaskan Malamutes are also great! Heavier than the Huskies but they have a good temper too!

Very nice Malamute animation, Uguel! They're also great dogs but do get quite large. I'm happy with my 45 pound pup (the dog food bills are reasonable!) And Shelb, Kindred is a beautiful looking Mal! How old is he now? As you prolly know by now, I'm a fan of all the husky/northern breeds. A friend just recently bought an 8-week old puppy who's half Siberian/half Japanese Akita. What a great looking pup! Can't wait to see what he'll look like when he's older!

    I love the the animation!
Kindred just turned a year old a couple weeks ago :D

    Here's a couple more pics.....I'm a proud parent ;)

He weighs 110 pounds, but will stilll muscle-up....Mal's grow until they're two :D He's the sweetest natured dog I have ever seen....we also have two chihuahua's. They boss him around quite a bit. In fact our little male chihuahua is the alpha!!

Heck, I think Kindred sometimes thinks he is a chihuahua.
We plan on getting another Malamute in about a year.

    LMAO!

Dang, what an awesome dog! And, from your response, Kindred, like most of the northern breeds, is a sweet, humble, non-assuming canine! And that's what endears me to them: their striking good looks and musculature but, most important, their sweet, loving dispositions! To compare them to humans, it's like knowing a person who has the build of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the fighting potential of Bruce Lee and yet the quiet, loving personality of Mother Theresa!

I hope you have lots of good years with that dog! :D

Wow Shelb, that dog is gorgeous! :) I'd better not look at these pictures anymore for it would make me sick wanting to get another dog so much. :D
