Yes, I'm in Washington near the Columbia river - up in the hills.

My pics are lost that are from the time I was in Columbia, so I hunted some up for ya, BBoss!

I stayed mainly in Santa Marta, it was totally cool! Didn't want to come back! LOL!

There were the tropical rainforests a few miles away from the beach I was staying at, the water so clear you could swim out pretty far and still see thru the water, it was a beautiful sorta of aqua.......white sand beaches, and the Andes Mountains were only a short drive away, you felt surrounded by mountains and water, and wonderfully warm Columbians!

You could see a donkey driven cart parked at a parking meter along with a 49 Ford, old American cars were even in 'car showrooms'! I saw a 57 Belair (this was the early '90's!) sitting in the showroom like a prince!

The girls in our group all got in trouble from the old mamacitas for wearing sleeveless sundresses! Boy, did we get in trouble for that?!!?

The weather is wonderful too, not too hot or cold, unless you go more into the mountains, still not cold to me, tho....

At the time, it was before all the really bad troubles, I hate to hear about all that, it was a wonderful place! Guess now I am glad my family talked me into coming back home! :D

Here is a church that is a big tourist attraction, it's supposedly the scene of many miracles by the Virgin Mary. I am putting some links down so you can read about it yourselves,...pretty amazing looking place and this is the third one that has been built!

This is the river through Medillin, it's soo neat - had to show you....the river is lit up in December for Christmas - or was - don't know much about Columbia now, cuz it's gotten such a bad name and that's a shame!

(Except for Shakira and some of the other fine artists who try to represent Columbia as it should be!)(Down boys! LOL!)

On holidays and Sundays, most of the towns and cities close down for a couple of hours and they have a like street festivals anyone can join in! So, you can have your own parade! What ya think, Sam! Take your wagons?? :D

It's also surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Carribbean, lots of seafood, salsa dancing and water!

    BeetleBoss,
I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures of Antwerp in Belgium.

That beautiful castle is called "Het Steen", literally translated, it means "The Stone".
I don't live very close to that castle, but with my bicycle it takes 10-15 minutes to get there.

Okay, I will show you mine, if you will show me yours. Here's one to start:

    http://pamelajoy.com/alaska/fairbanks/m05may/photos/cushmanstreetbridge.jpg

    Fairbanks, Alaska

This was taken on a May afternoon. I am standing on First Avenue, facing northeast, and you can see the Cushman Street Bridge with the flags on it. That's the Chena River running under the bridge. Look at all that beautiful, blue sky. Wow! Do I love it here!
