Should MS take responsibility for user's decisions?

    This has been a hot button topic in these forums at times. Should MS take full, partial or no responsibility for a user's decision on what to install on their computers, including malicious files?

    No. Why should they? Should they take responsibility for a system having security flaws? Yes. Should they take responsibility if I download and install something? Why?

    Isn't that the same as saying that if I download XYZ software, ABC software vendor should take responsibility if it cripples my system? The least you can do is ask for a refund...
