Should i block windows svchost.exe connections.?

    well, try it with Windows 7 or 8. ;)

    if you're a noob like me and don't know or care to configure ports then you'll brick the machine.

    I'm running Windows 7 and don't allow svchost to connect to the internet. My machine isn't bricked.

    That definitely works fine.

    There's a DHCP IPv6 one: UDP, local:546, remote: 547...though most people won't need it :)

    BTW, anyone who's interested or cares, I've got a very comprehensive list of MS Update server IP addresses with CIDR masks. If using Windows Vista/7/8 firewall, just tie the wuauserv.exe service to program %SystemRoot%\System32\svchost.exe. Remote ports are TCP 80,443
