There isn't any more any information about conflicts with DefenseWall and Comodo Firewall. Are those fixed too? After all I don't have any problems...

For those who are thinking about running the latest version of Shadow Defender alongside DefenseWall, here is Tony's reply to my inquiry.

"I have tested SD with the latest version of DefenseWall,
and found no problem. but software conflicts are very complex.
I am not sure SD will work well with DefenseWall in any environment."

    Peace & Gratitude,

    Hi,

there is a report that build 259 has already been bypassed by some evils. o_O

EDIT: "Bypassed" sometimes could be meant "penetrated".

yep - I'm bypassed by evils all the time. They just never seem to want to come round and visit any of my machines.

Does that mean that some malware are able to jump from the virtual system to the real system (total penetration) ?

    alloucho,

I was just about to post to you and the power went out. So you get the short version. If your AV doesn't use the registry for an up date, just find the folders that it uses and add them to Exclude.

I use AntiVir Premium 8 and it uses the registry. The program will be updated and the updates do survive a reboot. The problem is that the AntiVir Status page will indicate two different dates for definition updates. When you expand Last Update, the definitions update will show a different date than the column to the right of it. One will be the udate that you just did and the other will be from a previous one. It is really updated which can be confirmed when you try to update again. It will tell you so.

The folders that Antivir Premium 8 needs Excluded:

    C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\*
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\*

It is not perfect but does work. To get the two to be in sync I have to update while the system partition is not shadowed. Just find where your antivirus update folders are and exclude them.

Here is an older post that I made about my experience with it.

Is it possible to arrange the entries in the Shadow Defender Exclude list? I can open the .sdl file several ways and read it but can't edit it. Note pad will open it even. I just want to be able to order it. As it is now, the Exclude window is a haphazard collection of entries and long entries can't even be read as they don't fit the window.

    Thank You

edit - You can see the long files if you widen the Path column near the up verticle scroll bar button but I forgot. Then a horizontal scroll bar appears. It is not apparent enough for me I guess.

This "bypassed" applies only to NTFS system and Tony has now patched it.

New version here v1.1.0.260 although the website has not been updated yet.

~note: when download is available from products download page then it can be posted but our preference as always is a link to products download page....Bubba~

i downloaded the new version which is not available at the sd homepage
tried it and my pc failed to start normally and i restored my system by a ghost image
this bug was reported in details to tony
and untill fixed i'll be back to version 1.1.0.259
as i don't care about fighting the cs.exe
i'll not face this maleware at least in the near future and if yes will not be a big problem
my av will eliminate it instantly
thanks for informing us about the updaed version
i knew now why tony have not put in on the SD home page
    it still under internal testing

    djohn,

You need to exclude the location of the downloaded updates. In the case of AntiVir; the registry is used also. Neither of your excludes will be retain the programs' updates after a reboot.

You need to exclude the final location(s) of the update which is what gets changed. And you want to be able to allow that changed file or folder to persist so you exclude the location; not the program updater.
