Additional protection layer is not bad. Actually thing are about low rights for surfing and other non-admin tasks like editing documents or viewing movie. Either use UAC in admin account or use standard account even when using HIPS.

i contacted Brian one of the developer of Geswall, about a week ago, asking him about the ETA of Geswall 3.0 and he said it was coming soon.

it works fine on my W7 Home x 32 with no issues at all.
but that's the only thing i use realtime.

i tried it with Zemana and both worked well together.

Did you leave UAC on or did you disable it?

I too used GW on my system as standalone but it did crash on mine. I have some people in this forum claiming to be working on their Win 7 systems and I believe them but by going through majority of posts here as well in other places I have to conclude that something goes wrong with GW when used on Win 7, it may be the UAC or something else but something is definitely wrong, so many people cannot be wrong. At first I too thought people experiencing problems with GW on Win 7 was due to the fact that people here run so many things together on the same machine at the same time so the conflict might be between GW and other third party apps rather than 7 but when I tried it personally I found out that the problem really is with GW.The situation is a weird one but the bottomline is that in majority of Win 7/Vista machines, GW is not stable.

I personally know of 4 other people who use Geswall on Windows 7-32bit with zero issues,so not sure what to tell you guys that aren't having much luck using it on your systems.

Well said Boost, there is really no other ways to explain it, but the fact is I have never heard so much debate here or elsewhere on a securityware in relation to its compatibility with Win 7 which are supposed to be compatible with 7 so one has to assume that it has compatibility problems with 7, I hope you understand what I m trying to say.

On problems with the UAC, I have personally heard people saying they are having problems with GW even when the UAC is disabled.

perhaps they are using other realtime defenses?
some apps don't play well together when they all hook into the kernels.

    This ^

Wayyyy too many people use too many programs for security real time these days, and that plain causes problems,slow-downs,etc.

Two of the 4 people I know, only use Avast and Avira besides Geswall, thats it.
Heck,I dont even run an antivirus with Geswall ;)

That's too bad if it happens. I saw a youtube review of Geswall and was really impressed. I was planning to buy it but saw it's not x64 compatible...
