You are only the one to decide to change or not.
For me, i still run on NOD32 V2.7 because it's fast even when all of options activated (like advanced Heuristic).

If you have Windows 2000/XP/Vista , I would recommend you install v3.0 but not because of better detection rate . v3 is supposed to have the same detection as v2.
v3 is the one currently developed/supported and brings some improvements over v2
