That's because of the webguard, if you installed it along with the toolbar.

you can use Prevex 3.0 Free
Just Disable the monitoring and scan as you want :p
but for removal you will have to use your own hands

also you can Try using adawre Free i remember i installed it once in addition to MSE and i was able to use as an ondemand scanner

Well it matters not now cause I am sure Avira slowed down my internet, so I uninstalled it completely!

This is what I am now using:

    1. Emsisoft Emergency Kit Scanner

    2. Hitman PRO

    3. ClamWin

    4. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

And none of them sit in RAM taking up resources and slowing down my internet, so I am happy. :argh: :thumb:

NOD32 is not free but as a matter of personal interest, are you sure? When I've done this in v.5 it still loads 'EKRN.EXE'.

Without the toolbar it doesn't. Lag should be minimal with it, because of URL Filter portion.

The best thing to do :thumb: instead of relying on unreliable Scanners...;)
