there are 4, take your pick in no certain order and the reality of width between all 4 is very small.

    Avira, Norton, Eset, Avast

No others can touch these 4 in lightness.

No, didnt omit it by mistake. The latest version makes web page loading very choppy and slow. When that is corrected then yes.

As far as I understand, slow copy speeds are due to real-time scanning/decompressing the files. That's a great indicator - but not the only one to consider. How often does one copy over large packed exes or compressed files as a simple consumer-level user? Maybe never. What if that's not a performance indicator that affects you (see: any school or hospital)? In a hospital, application performance trumps read/write speeds.

Also, it would weed out the worst offenders, but it doesn't give you insight into overall performance problems either. And where one AV might hit copy speed hard (like KAV), it might be super-light in day-to-day tasks to make up for it (KAV?). I used Panda Cloud on my netbook but I still can't say that it has the best performance/detection ratio...

Is that corroborated? Sounds like it has a high chance of only being on your end.

Maybe, it depends on your system, hardware set-ups and other things running in your pc.

If you are running with multi-core processor with 4 or more Gig Ram then even the heaviest suite will run light.

If you are the 'Privacy be damned' type, you can opt fo the 'Avira Security suite 2012' sweepstake on Facebook.
Just enter you name, date of birth, grandmothers blood type and give away all your friends email addresses and you're good for a 7-month (as of now) Avira security suite license. It does run light.

Then what tests you would suggest? :D
IMO it does works . . . maybe not the best way to benchmark it but it does show how they perform under certain situations. :)

I use these three and agree...Comodo seems slightly lighter followed by NIS, and Avast. I also run MBAM-Pro on all three and no issues. ESET is light as well...just waiting a little longer since the release. RR

I'm running comodo internet security & mbam pro as well.. couldn't find any performance slowdowns after installing mbam pro (before that I use cis alone).
