Good Idea, this would clear up my doubts too :)
@taleblou, we would appreciate, if you were able to replicate the tests.
but, if you were not able to, I understand. Thanks a lot :)

Hi jnthn, this is a fantastic suggestion :thumb: It will be even better if taleblou can share the malware samples to those who are keen to test too.

    Cheers,
    sinlam

    Hi taleblou,

Thank you for your suggestion. SecureAPlus has Lockdown mode that blocks untrusted program automatically. Is this what you are referring to? As for the pre-virus scanning, let's find out more in the next revamped version ;)

    Cheers,
    sinlam

    Hi Guys,

For those who are keen to test taleblou's malware samples, please pm me. Please test it on a clean VM and put the samples only after your VM has been whitelisted by SecureAPlus. Do post your testing result.

taleblou, I hope you don't mind me sharing the sample as our ultimate aim is to build a robust security software :)

    Cheers,
    sinlam

No, but I think rules in here may not allow it. A admin might ban or delete it I think. I think you should remove it before a mod see it. May go against the rules in here? YOU SHOULD ASK A MOD PERMISSION AND NOT ME.

I did. Also the test is finished and waiting for the hitman pro and malwarebyte result. Secureaplus did a excellent job this time at blocking all and its clam av detected 2 of the malwares and removed them.

Will send you all the data as soon as all is finished. I have also incl. screenshot for every step and ways.

Not really surprised with the results. Anti-exec blocking common executable file not on its whitelist.

I'm curious though as to what kinds of files SAP monitors aside from common exe, dll, msi, vb script (something like SRP's default list of file extensions).

Hi jnthn, good question :thumb: SecureAPlus actually does more than just monitoring file extensions. Merely monitoring file extensions will not be a robust protection.

    Cheers,
    sinlam
