I've restored the Vista Entire Disk Image with TI 11 and it worked as expected (still had the 2048 offset) and booted properly (except for the "new device found" hard drive pop-up).

I then restored just the Vista partition using the "normal" mode. It changed the offset to 63 and Vista still booted correctly. However, the sector-by-sector option was not available to test. Apparently, it has a problem with the partition using the entire drive (just guessing), since I re-restored the Entire Disk Image, but it still wouldn't let me do the sector-by-sector restore (partition grayed out, unable to select).

I started Vista and shrunk the Vista partition. Then created a new "normal" disk image and then it would let me do the sector-by-sector restore. However, it set the offset back to 63 instead of leaving it at 2048.

I then created a sector-by-sector image of the Vista drive. Then I restored just the Vista partition using sector-by-sector mode. It still changed to partition offset to 63. So, right now, the only way I see that TI can preserve the 2048 offset is to do an Entire Disk Image restore.
