  10. I got a Fedora 18 multi-desktop DVD at a Linux convention. The default Gnome 3 desktop is unusably sluggish, but Windowmaker makes it fly:

This window manager should get more attention IMO.
    - It has "desktop icons" for launching stuff
    - It has a full-featured configuration program
    - It has a graphical toolkit for building other small programs
    - It has a menu generator, a menu editor, support for different mouse and key bindings...
    - It is still under active development
    - It is visibly faster than e.g. Fluxbox, while having more features

The main weakness is that the keybindings are linked to the menu, so if you regenerate the menu you lose your keybindings. That aside, it's one of the more friendly (and functional) standalone WMs.

Fuduntu 2013.2, a rolling release mix of Fedora and Ubuntu, purring nicely on a pretty old laptop.
Fuduntu offers solid performance, low resource usage, has nice forum support. I'd describe it as 'stable bleeding edge without the bleeding', think f.i. frequent kernel updates paired with Gnome 2 for desktop.

Default Cairo dock, mostly Sphere icons and a 'Vela pulsar wobbly particle jet' background image.

Replaced Fuduntu with Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon.

I tried to make the everyday experience somewhat similar, so i used Cairo Dock, placed panel on the top, and i'm using almost the same applets and applications.

(Cinnamon theme, GKT+ theme: mint-Z, icons theme: Faenza-Variants-Cuppertino, and some icons from Azenis in the Dock)

maybe you could try putting Rainlandar more toward the bottom so it doesn't 'conflict' with the background image.

Where can I get that Fuduntu theme? Can I use it in Mint 13 XFCE or Cinnamon?

That theme reminds me of KDE3 :D

I took the themes, icons and wallpapers from a install of Fuduntu in another hard drive.

I think that it won't work with Cinnamon because it's a GKT2 theme...
    About XFCE, i don't know.

    it should work.
XFCE is a spin off Gnome.

i never had any problems installing GTK themes in XFCE anyway.
