    When attempting to create an incremental backup, I received this error message when the backup began:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error

    Shedul2.exe has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.

    However, the backup completed and it was verified.

    I have TI v8.0.0.774
    1. Is this backup any good?
    2. What might have caused this error?

    Hello johnpd,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please download and install the latest build (937) of Acronis True Image 8.0 which is available in the Product Updates section of our web-site.

    Please create an image with the latest build and see whether the problem still persists.

    If you get the error message with the latest update, please do the following:

    - Press the Start button, choose Run, type "drwtsn32" and press Enter;

    - In the dialog that appears check the Log File and Crash Dump paths, then press the OK button;

    - Run Acronis True Image and reproduce the problem;

    - Pick up the user.dmp and drwtsn32.log files in the directory specified at step 2;

    Please create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    What do I do with the last incremental image file? Is it valid or do I manually delete the file and then recreate it with the new build?

    Hello johnpd,

    When you carry out a verification, TI checks the full image and all associated incrementals up to, and including, the latest one. Technically, as your image checked out o.k., there should be no need to recreate that last incremental.

    Hopefully your schedul2.exe termination errors will be eliminated by installing Build 937. Note that you will be able to restore any part of your existing image archive without a problem using a bootable rescue CD created by the new build.

    Regards

    Thanks for your response. I will keep the current incremental image. I will be sure to create a new Rescue CD using the new build. I will then try a new incremental image.
