Scan Time From 60+ to 10 Minutes - Really now!??

(today's paper) Tech writer Walter Mossberg states that Norton's new Re-Designed '09 AV Suite Exempts "Trusted" apps ("Trusted" either by their research or User- supplied" input) and That fact reduced a 60+ min. scan to 10 minutes (70% of Programs named "Trusted).

Can someone roll away the fog to Justify or Debunk a similar (Huge) Exception List in our ESET AV.... My ESS AV scan takes 70 min. and shorter would be Nice if SAFE... BUT How would you draw the line for Exempted? Sounds Too Good to be True.

 

I actually heard from others it was even quicker. I will withhold judgement until I try it out myself however.
