I just re-installed XP PRO and the sasser virus caught me without even opening up a browser, I just re-installed PeoplePC and wham!!! I got shutdown issues, computer is shutting down, the lass.exe is messed up and when I went to install Tiny Personal 6.0 trial, I got errors and files missing and so forth.

I'm currently running a online scan with Panda and I hope this does the trick.

I DL the Mcafee stinger and Norton Fixblast and both of those couldn't catch the virus.

How do I know which version of the blaster do I have? I see 5-6 versions and different removal tools for each.

First of all patch the system to prevent repeated infections than remove the worm.

Always, when installing Windows, first activate the firewall before plugging the system in a network.
