I think because the problem was that IceSword was already running out of the sandbox. I mean there was a previously infection before the malware ran sandboxed so the issue was caused due a communication between the unsandboxed and the sandboxed processes.

I have tested thousands of malwares with Sandboxie and right now I don´t know of any able to bypass it.

Brilliant Buster ! That`ll do me fine. Your testimonial totally accepted.
I had to raise the point, don`t like loose ends.

Now I can clear Sandboxie from the suspect list, pat it on the head and again say "Who`s a pretty boy then ?"

I also don´t like loose ends but that´s usually what happens when you are wrong about something and you will not admitt it.

    Hello Stapp,
When I last clicked the Members List it said that the Admin, had killed it off. NOW, it is operating. Not into magic, but now ya see it, now ya don`t.

Makes life interesting don`t it ?

I don't know how far we can go with this before the mod squad moves in but ... won't the rope prevent said toilet item from falling to the floor?

Very simple to use. Defaults provide very good protection.
You can add more protection by modifying the configuration file.
Sandboxie is designed mainly for the browser, though you can install and run some programs in it.
If you use save Bookmarks sure, otherwise, No.
Delete the contents of the sandbox and all data is lost for good.
If you download any files from the web, you will be asked if you want to restore them to your real HDD outside of the sandbox
No PhD. required, but if you have it add it to the end of your name.
e.g. Jingle Heimer Schmidt Jr. the Third PhD. :D

Just a small point. It has been said many times that the Nagware screen which appears after a 30 day period of free trial is a nuisance. Not only on this Forum but on several others. Users find it a pest and so do I. Other freebies do not have it, so why Sandboxie ?

My Nagware panel pops up once every 24 hours. When it is gone, I do not get it again in repeated logons until the next scheduled display, which is no problem. Once in 24 hours cannot be a matter for annoyance.

The panel is a reminder that we are being granted a FREE service and that if we register and pay the fee, it will never come up again.

Tzuk has designed one of the most brilliant systems on the entire Internet and obviously needs to make money out of it. Good luck Tzuk, you deserve it a million times, the whole world is grateful to you.

He is so generous that after 30 days he does not screw up the program or withdraw it - NO ! he lets us still use it FREE for as long as we want.
The only price we pay is to wait a few seconds every 24 hours whilst the Nagware panel is displayed and then click NO to registering. Then on we go for as long as we like.

Such generosity is in line with many other Freebies, but for an individual like Tzuk - he is not a big Company with an army of executives, but a one man band - he needs to capitalise on his creation in order to pay expenses and make a profitable living.

So - no more moaning about his one panel in 24 hours, you still get a FREE service. Give the guy an overwhelming ovation of gratitude and enjoy his generosity or pay up for his system.

Tzuk has never stated that Sandboxie is a FREE service, only that by concession we are allowed to use it free after 30 days.

Quick question. Does anyone else get a slight lag starting Firefox sandboxed? It seems like it adds 3-4 seconds onto my initial launch. Is there anyway to speed this up. I've tried the disabling of other programs and firefox addons. Nothing seems to help. Any takers?

Up to you if you want to try this?

    Outside of the sandbox.

Turn off FF's inbuilt security "Block reported web forgeries and Block reported attack sites" which never seem to work anyways and probably conflicts with other security that does the same thing.

Once they are turned off shutdown FF and do a search for urlclassifier2.sqlite and urlclassifier3.sqlite files then delete them.

They will be recreated to a default size of around 32 kb and stay there whilst those settings are unticked.

Now open CCleaner and under Firefox making sure that "Compact Databases" is selected and run it.

Now open Firefox unsandboxed and navigate to your trusted/most used sites to build up FF's cache.

Delete the contents of the sandbox and restart a sandboxed FF session and see how it goes.

FF starts unsandboxed in half a blink and a blink sandboxed but it is quite a fast mid range quad.

I am sure running FF sandboxed adds a few seconds during cold starts,
but honestly it would not bother me if it added even more.
For the protection we get using Sbxie I don't mind those extra seconds
that takes FF to open during cold starts.

If there is one thing that using a computer has taught me thru the years it is ... patience. An increased startup of several seconds is excellent for all the additional protection that one is receiving.

    And Bo elam,

Bravo for being sensible. Who in their right mind cares a hoot for a few seconds delay waiting for the best protection one can get in using Sandboxie ?

What on Earth is a few seconds in any case ? I waste that trying to swat the fly that is buzzing round my screen and life goes on it`s inevitable path .
