I have a question on the difference between CIS's auto-sandbox and Defense+. The auto-sandbox will sandbox untrusted processes, virtualize its actions, and make it Partially Limited or whatever you have it set at. Defense+ seems like it does the same thing; it will run untrusted processes at the level you set it it. So what's the difference between the two?

The autosandbox will not virtualize the process. Only the manual sandbox.

Do you think setting Defense+ to make untrusted files Untrusted (the security lvl), about as good as DefenseWall/GeSWall, etc. I'm using it in combo with Avira Free on my 10 y/o brother's computer and I want it to be protected well.

I don't believe so. You still have the TVL or white list from comodo. If it is signed then D+ will allow it. There have been a few companies that were signed and had some less than stellar software. Not a virus but maybe PUP or scareware. Its still very secure though.
I've used geswall a lot in the past. Nothing will get past it if its labeld untrusted or a something from a parent that is untrusted. Geswall and defensewall are both excellent security software. I had used defensewall a few times just to try it out and test it. I got very bored because it was very quite and secure.
