If you downloaded Sandboxie 3.64 the first day (I did!), you might wish to do it again. A minor bug with Avast and Limited User accounts turned up and was supposed to be fixed soon after the new version was released. The patched version is still called version 3.64 but the MD5 file hashes are different. I haven't tested the new one yet but it is supposed to be fixed!

    **EDIT**

I can confirm that the re-released v 3.64 fixed the bug for me. No more issues while running under my Limited/Standard User Account.

Updated from a beta version without any problems.

I forgot to use ccleaner to clear out all the cookies and stuff before Upgrading to 3.64. Should I done that before upgrading or would it not matter?

Also, I always delete settings.sol in the macromedia folder for privacy reasons if I use Firefox not sandbrowsed and I forgot to delete the setting.sol file before running the sandboxieinstall.exe. Does this matter?

Can someone with Sandboxie experience please provide some info on hardening and/or tweaking to provide the best security while forgoing the use of an antivirus? I will be using (mainly) FF browser with Https Everywhere, NoScript, AdBlock Plus, DoNot Track Plus, and Keyscrambler. I also have Zemana Antilogger and will be using Windows Vista firewall. Thank You!

Have only programs you want to have internet/running privilages, get eraser and have it erase the sandbox on exit, enable dropped rights.

Create many sandboxes to isolate programs from each other and use the restrictions. Don't think of Sandboxie as a browser in a sandbox, SBIE is a lot more, use it to run most programs in their own sandbox. All new downloaded files should be run sandboxed.

What you want to do, can be done. I know it because I have being doing it with no sweat.
