    Your logic (from a developer's eyes) is spot on, sadly (due to Qt bowing out, ugh).

    this seams to be able to allow you to run Qt6 apps under windows 7: https://github.com/vxiiduu/VxKex/releases
    So I can make sure the core components are windows 7 compatible as far as possible and for the Qt6 ui you would need such a wrapper.

    PS: if this works out and holds what it promises I can add support such that the UI component is aware of it and sets up auto start etc accordingly if finds itself runnign with it. I think if this works its a good compromise for windows 7 users.

    Looks promising! Some software (eg transmission bt client) has now been released in two versions
    (qt6 for win10, qt5 for win7). But your approach may perhaps be a more robust one :) Thank you.

    @DavidXanatos : I'm not sure I understand the exception in Rule 1. A brief exlpanation would be appreciated.
