I would like to keep BOTH sandboxie.ini and sandboxie-plus.ini in the PROGRAM folder
(and not in c:\windows or any \local folder).
How best to accomplish that? Thanks.

Just move them there, when a file is found in the application folder it is used instead of the windows / local folder location, its part of the mechanism for portable mode.

    Excellent! Thank you.
I have been putting sandboxie.ini in the application folder
ever since sbie v2.5 (yes!) but was not quite sure about
the file sandboxie-plus.ini in your plus version.

At the first of my two attempts to use v1.0.0. I made some screenshots (at the second attempt the situation was the same). Perhaps they are of use for you:

    1.
Whenever I tried to start my browser in the sandbox this window popped up:

    01.jpg

Exactly in the way you see it (small and cut at the edges, I cannot change its size, and the button empty).

    2.
When trying to start Firefox in the sandbox, in the Sandboxie window appeared these messages:

    02 (FF).jpg

    3.
For Chrome I have an own sandbox where it is a forced program. When trying to start Chrome, appeared these messages:

    03 (chrome).jpg

    4.
And if I remember correctly, the following screenshot was taken when trying to create a new sandbox:

    04 (new sb).jpg

If you need more information, please tell me. (As mentioned, I am back at v0.9.8.d but I will reinstall v1.0.0 under Shadow Defender, if necessary.)

very strange... could you please try with a default config, i suspect this is cause by some unusial ini setting that is now no longer applyed right
if with the default config it works than please poste your original sandboxie ini

I moved to Plus (with some initial reluctance, and went back and forth to/from Classic) as I assumed it was "the future", and now only use Plus. So long as David can continue Classic why potentially limit the audience?

Single installer with a choice sounds like a great idea(!), and may lead to more Plus users if that is what David prefers - no idea if practical.

So far, that INABILITY to SECURELY delete my Sandbox contents is the PRIMARY reason for me to keep going with Sandbox Classic.

FOR THE 100TH's TIME: Sandbox Classic leaks insecurely deleted files left and right, you don't gain anything from securely deleting the last version of a file if when the sandbox was in operation dozen's of copies of that same file got deleted insecurely.
For example each time chrome saves bookmarks, it creates a new file with them, deletes the old one and than renames the new file to bookmarks.something.

If you need to securely dispose of a sandbox, like really securely, not just placebo securely to feal like a big bad hacker, you need to locate the sandbox to an encrypted file container, like a VeraCrypt volume, use a secure password or if you want to dispose after use use a random password that not even you know.

This is the way this is the only way.

Deleting some leftovers securely after a lot of data already leaked is pointless.

I'm sorry for being so harsh, but if you really need security you must understand how to obtain it.

    Thank you, David.

    A few questions.

When Sandboxie Plus automatically deletes Sandboxie contents, does it delete everything or not?
    In short.
If Sandboxie Classic LEAKS some info, then, Sandboxie Plus deletes everything.

    Another question.

I'm having that "chronic" spell-check problem when using Sandboxie with Chrome based Browsers.

Without Sandboxie - my spellcheck is working on Opera.
Sandboxed Opera - my spellcheck is NOT WORKING.

I was able to find a culprit of that issue. It's a VPN proxy.

The same VPN proxy (proxies) don't give me any spellcheck problems without using Sandboxie.
In addition, I have no problems with Spellcheck whil using Sandboxed Firefox and Sandboxed Osiris Browser and any of those VPN proxies.

    Here it is.

    Soft.png

    Another issue.

On my laptop (that I'm currently using) I have only 4 GB of Memory.
When I decided to create a new RAM disk, it said, "639 MB available".

Personally I strongly recommend ImDisk over Softperfect RAM.
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/imdisk-toolkit/
Updated more often, open source, can be set to only use the RAM that is actually used by the RAM disk, etc.

As I've posted earlier, my spellcheck problem is DIRECTLY LINKED to this/that VPN PROXY, but...

Here is my Opera's spellcheck without SANDBOXIE.

You can see the red line.

    Spellcheck- NO SANDBOXIE.png

And here is my disabled Opera's spellcheck with SANDBOXIE - Sandboxed Opera.

    No red lines.

    Spellcheck- WITH SANDBOXIE.png

It CLEARLY indicates that Sandboxie is causing it.
I don't want to blame Sandboxie for it, but I have a PROBLEM.

Missing the wipe-feature with ImDisk: Tick Wipe Memory on Dismount to securely wipe out the memory used for the RAM disk on dismounting the disk. Available for logon-time disks only.

I'm pretty sure memory is wiped on computer shutdown if you use BitLocker. But if that's not an option, I can see why that would be a dealbreaker.

Booth leak the same amount of information if you need to avoid that use a encrypted container or a ram disk like suggested above.

    Thank you.
    P.S. Just for the record.
I'm not some kind of "hacker" or trying to hide from "something".

With all due respect, I don't believe my request to remove the ugly focus rectangle should be seen as customization, because it should have never been there in the first place. And I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay a monthly fee, because to be honest I don't actually upgrade Sandboxie that often, but perhaps I can make a small yearly donation.
