Would a corporation lie to us!? They would never!

Personally, I'm planning on swapping to SRP, OSArmor and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.

Well the delayed reply reflects as unprofessional on the part of Sophos.

Can't speak for Malwarebytes but you won't be disappointed in the first two

Sophos, is this the same company that took out HitmanPro?
Wow, they are so great, at wrecking programs.
Reminds me of Avast and ccleaner,
    and Emsisoft (OA Armor).

Bigger the company is less you can trust.

Yes I like, and will patronize the Mom and Pop's stores (software included).
Got rid of EAM even though is was free (nothing's free). Wouldn't put it on again if they paid me.

Really.. EAM is one of the best anti-virus going and provides excellent, if not the best, customer support.

Yes, anyone who knows anything about anti-virus programs would agree. We are talking about Emsisoft aren't we?

If Sophos doesn't give Sandboxie back to Ronen, "crowdfund elam" becomes the natural way to go. Good thinking!

Is Bo a developer? With the skills to maintain/improve Sandboxie?

Not meant in any mean way; just a reality check.

Yes I hope so, or perhaps it can become open source, but that's not realistic.

It would be interesting to know. Let's say they can get 10.000 users that pay a yearly fee of 20 dollar, that would be a yearly revenue of 200.000 dollar. Let's say you need 2 developers with a paycheck of 40.000 dollar a year, that would leave a net profit of about 120.000 dollar, not that bad.

To clarify, I was just trying to explain that people who say "you don't need Sandboxie anymore" are wrong. This was a case where Firefox's sandbox was bypassed. Let's say the payload wasn't stopped by AV/AE, then SBIE would have saved the day by containing it. It's possible that the RAT wouln't even be able to run correctly because of low priviliges. But if it did, you would need an anti-logger to block certain behaviors.

I not saying Sandboxie is no good, but I have been without any AV, not even Windows Defender, for the last two years. In case I would have problems, I would just restore with Macrium. By the way I have a lifetime licence for Sandboxie but not using it...

bo is not even close to any coding from my view. sorry to say that.
and currently and ofc with such view i am not willign to pay anything.
i had several licenses for Outpost Firewall "Online Armor" which was bought by Emsisoft and they made an offer, refused, this is BS at all.
since this event i avoid emsisoft software at all and never extended any of their software.
like sandboxie i decided by purpose to use such software, one is RIP, the other one is uncertain until december.

    edit: "Online Armor"

Hi XIII. Whenever you read imdb mention me, ignore him. Lying about me, belittling me is part of his agenda. He does it añl the time, is like some sort of mean attraction. Whenever he mentions me or Sandboxie, ignore him, his purpose for doing it is to create noise and confusion. :)

Let's not and say we did. :argh: 40,000 salary for a Sophos engineer? :cautious: Net profit of 120,000 USD is, in theory, chump change to Sophos. Is that what it boils down to: not enough of a profit margin? 'Tis the weekend, Monday perhaps?

in fact sophos wont resell it - it uses code from sandboxie and in such case they were idiots to sell sandboxie again and pay money for the rights to use. geez people...
