Yes correct, but I mentioned it because in general this should cause less problems, at least that's my main impression.

I think ln some system you might need to allow more than in others for Firefox to function seamlessly in the sandbox but that really depends on your personal usage of Firefox. In my personal case, I only allow access to bookmarks. I dont get any inconvenience by not allowing anything else and Firefox works the same for me sandboxed as it does out of the sandbox. What to allow and not allow in Firefox is not one way only, it should depend on what you do and how you use the browser.

Longevity more than post count was meant in the context of having a certain 'beta testing' fatigue if not outright disinterest in trialing new security applications, and eventually giving feedback to the developer. It's got nothing to do with Voodooshield and Dan, as I mentioned I've had bad experiences with all anti-executable(s), and I've decided for many years now, if something doesn't work out of the box, I just move on. Even SB, as popular as it is here at Wilders, had some problems with some members computers. I did not post in the Voodooshield thread for the reasons above, I know Dan is a very helpful and dedicated developer...

I don't have a template but VS is fully functional without one.
It can detect programs running within a sandbox, and all other VS-features are functional too. Blacklist/Whitelist/VoodooAI, etc.

+1, but have not really tested if VS was working properly within Sandboxie ...
... but @mood's confirmation is good enough for me!
Edit: Did try @mood's test now, running a non-whitelisted portable application (GeekUninstaller) sandboxed. First ERP picked it up as an unknown application, I whitelisted it - then VS (Smart mode) blocked it.

    Q: remind me regarding, for example md5che~1.exe. I'll force md5checksum.exe and get md5che~1.exe too. md5checksum.exe works sandbox'd with/without md5che~1.exe.
    Whats md5che~1.exe ?
    Thanks

md5che~1.exe is the short filename or "8.3 filename" of md5checksum.exe. Each long filename has a 8.3 filename for compatibilty reasons.

Okay, so I may need md5che~1.exe for compatibility with legacy programs.
    Thanks!

Where is the option to allow access to the printer spooler? I have bought a printer and want to be able to print from firefox running in a sandbox.

If you are getting Sandboxie messages 1319 and 1320, double click on 1320.

SBIE1320 To allow print spooler to write outside the sandbox for this process, please double-click on this message line

According to the changelog there are 3 ways to do this. One of them was already mentioned above.

Actually, I think I was the first who opened a thread about SBIE, back in 2004, but no biggie. I immediately saw potential, I knew this was going to be big. Not only for protection against exploits, but also for safely checking out apps.

I get ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR's when I try to connect to some sites using Google Chrome while sandboxed with Sandboxie but the sites work fine work fine in Chrome without being sandboxed .

    I am running Windows 10 64bit , Chrome Version 55.0.2883.87 m (64-bit) and Sandboxie 5.16 64bit.

The odd thing is if I use a Chromium trunk like Iron browser and I can connect to those same sites while it is sandboxed with Sandboxie.

Is there something in Chrome that is removed in Chromium that will will not allow Chrome to fully function in Sandboxie?

Apologies. Mind gets befuddled some times at my age. Obviously misremembered at some point and its become fact in my mind. It was an interesting product even then. No GUI to speak of and everything done via the ini file if I recall correctly. Taught you a thing or 2 though and worth the effort.

    Cheers
