Overkilll, I am not sure which programs Craig was talking about but I see a lot of security programs in your signature. You are probably mixing too many security programs.

I took another look at your posts from a few days ago. Sandboxie doesn't have any effect in what happens out of the sandbox.

But if after closing sandboxed Chrome, your system locks up, that might be a tell tale sign that an scanner is scanning within the sandbox when you delete the sandbox, the scanner locks up some files and don't let them go no matter what, that can happens. And the solution is to reboot the PC, and delete the sandbox afterward.

In this section of this post, when you say that you try to terminate Chrome and nothing happens, that's what I describe in the second paragraph of my previous post. The hang is also likely caused by a conflict, perhaps with a browser addon.

Exactly why my lifetime license for Sandboxie is not in use at this time, I have upgraded to Windows 10 and use Edge browser. Maybe someday.

The computer that this was happening on has no RT scanner installed.
I'll try a new beta soon and go from there.
Bo, have you seen any zemana am and sandboxie issues on the sandboxie forums?

I'm not Bo. But I will say that, personally, I haven't had any issue with Zemana AM (real-time or on-demand) and sandboxie free.

Currently besides Sandboxie free; there's Shadow Defender, ESET Smart Security(trial), VoodooShield and HitmanPro.Alert.

Even though you are not using a real time AV scanner, you are using NVT and MBAE. While doing their work, while you are running Chrome under SBIE, this programs are monitoring the sandboxed environment. Same as with an antivirus, when you close the sandboxed Chrome, the lock can happen. This locking of files is bound to happen when you use too many security programs. And I think this is your case, you haven't found a good mix for SBIE in this particular computer.

When I was using an AV, I use to get a lock maybe once every three month, that was normal. Ever since I quit using anything along SBIE, I get none. So, I know from experience were this things come from.

About what I read about Zemana and Sandboxie. Hit and miss. It might work well along Sandboxie in some computers and not in others. I think with most security programs, Sandboxie can work along as long as you don't mix too many security programs and keep changing them all the time. My best suggestion is to find a good companion for Sandboxie in this W7 32 bits computer and stick with it. Zemana could be it, test using Zemana along SBIE and nothing else and see what happens. The "nothing else" includes Key scrambler.

On an old XP machine I have, I run Sbie 5.11.10 and ZAM (paid) without any issues at all.

No other security installed on that machine.

All is a matter of properly configure each software, i use Chrome and run Sandboxie alongside HMPA, Appguard and ERP , never get any issues since ages.

Sandboxie has a lot of configuration options that must be understood and tested before applying them; it takes time.

I have all my security software excluded from one another if the options are available.

Got to love it. Those guys's were so critical of Sandboxie. That old saying about throwing bricks came home to roost.

Don't want to ruin the party, but if this guy can escape hardware-enforced micro-vms, he's going to have a field day with Sandboxie. Bromium promised to donate 10.000 GBP, if he could escape it. Maybe he'll take a look at Sandboxie as well for 10k. Amnisty International would sure appreciate another donation.
