    That looks like something that has to do with checking for updates automatically. Perhaps thats what it is and there is a problem with the server at this moment. Or, your choice of setting that has to do with checking for updates is messed up. I never seen the message. I have updates set to never check. You can go to Help>Check for updates and click Never if you want to see if that gets rid of the message.

    Bo, I suspect that the new version of Wise Care 365 - 4.1.1 PRO has caused it.
    I've just updated that Wise Care software. It has a new button, "System Protection off", and I just automatically clicked on it to make it "On".
    Very soon, I received a message from WC 365 about "VMI. exe" (or something similar) asking if I needed to "Allow it" or "Forbid it". Before I was able to figure out about that "exe", the time - 28 seconds - was up, and
    since then, my Sandboxie started messing up.
    Following your previous posts, I uninstalled Sandboxie but left the configuration file, restarted the computer.
    The problem was not resolved; therefore, I decided to COMPLETELY uninstall Sandboxie and re-install it (5.11.-3). After I restarted the computer, the problem was gone.
    Anyway, here is a snapshot with that Wise Care button.
    Just don't touch it.

    Hi Bo, not bad but not great tbh but very early in the beta cycle to be too critical. .

    Will keep discussion in SBIE forum to give Craig & Co time to respond and tell me what I'm doing wrong;).

    Cheers

    I'm sure it will Bo. The fact they've got this far is a major testament to them. Even Tzuk just wrote this off as not possible so hats off to Invincea.

    Onwards and upwards!

    Thats right, lets not forget that. Getting old Office to work in older Windows systems was a real challenge. Click to run its even harder and takes a lot of work, a lot of hours to get it done.

    It's been 7 months since I used sandboxie (I surely missed it but wanted to try other security without it) and I am a tiny bit rusty at configuring it (my memory ain't what it used to be) so can you all tell me how to give ublocko direct access for updating in firefox portable?

    you need to allow to write to your <portable profile path>\extension-data
    anyway with uBo it is not really necessary to run firefox in sandbox.

    sandbox > settings > ressource access > file access >...

    Hi Overkill, I never used Ublock but I believe the specific file you need to allow Direct file access to is ublock0.sqlite. You ll find this file inside an extension folder in your profile folder.

    Do you know what Anti-Keylogger software's work with Sandboxie? If Any?

    I think that KeyScrambler would have stop the transmission of data? Python Keylogger (Evil)?
    And work with Sandboxie? Feedback? Opinions?

    Kind regards,

    Last week someone said to me that he installed Spyshelter and all was well. I know SS has conflicted in the past with SBIE but maybe the compatibility is OK now. Thats best I can do, Moose.

    I've ran Spyshelter Firewall side by side with SBIE for for the past couple of years with absolutely no issues whatsoever--- even without tweaks, exceptions, exclusions, burning incense, etc.

    Do I need to add firefox portable's exe's in order for ubo to have direct access? As you can see it says it applies to "all programs" above and not just firefox.

    The way you have it now, any program that you run in the sandbox, have access to ublock0.sqlite. What you ought to do, for a little extra security, is make Firefox portable exe the only exe that's allowed the access.

    To do this, click the drop down window and select Firefox, then click Add and navigate to ublock0.sqlite. If you set it right, the drop down window will show Firefox with the exclamation sign to the right. And it will read "The list below applies to" firefox.exe (make sure it is the portables version exe).

    Okay, I clicked the "add program" button, but should I use FirefoxPortable.exe or firefox.exe or should it matter?

    EDIT: I tried both, and only firefox.exe worked which makes sense since it's the true executable for firefox.

    Here's my settings incase it will help anyone in the future...

    sbie ini
    OpenFilePath=C:\Portable Programs\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\places.sqlite
    OpenFilePath=C:\Portable Programs\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile\extension-data\ublock0.sqlite

    I have had a lot of troubles running Firefox sandboxed in Sandboxie, due to Firefox crashing in it a lot..
    Google Chrome did it occasionally also, if i used add-on's, that's why I decided to NOT use any add-on's with Chrome, and clear the cache whenever there might be something sensitive in the cache..
    No crashes so far..
    Me likes it.
