Samsung will officially be announcing its latest lineup of Galaxy flagship phones — rumored to be the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra — on January 14th, the company confirmed through invitations to a new Galaxy Unpacked event. The tagline: “Welcome to the Everyday Epic.” The event will kick off at 7AM PT / 10AM ET.

The company is widely expected to announce three new smartphones at the event, successors to last year’s Galaxy S20 lineup: a pair of matching S21 and S21 Plus phones (that are expected to be largely similar, except for size), and a more premium S21 Ultra model that will offer even better specs and cameras, similar to its 2020 counterpart, in addition to a curved display and support for Samsung’s S-Pen stylus.

Samsung Russia confirms Samsung Unpacked date and time

The date of Samsung’s Unpacked 2021 event has already leaked via a Korean newspaper, but now Samsung Russia has officially confirmed it on their website.

As leaked earlier, the event will take place on the 11th August 2021 and will be streamed from Samsung’s website and YouTube at 10 a.m. Eastern time in the United States and 11 p.m. Korean time, and apparently 17:00 Russian time.
At the event, Samsung Electronics is expected to introduce a total of five new products, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung Galaxy ZFlip 3, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4, and the new Samsung Galaxy Buds 2.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event's teaser leaks

Samsung's Unpacked event is taking place next month and now we even get to see the first teaser for it ahead of schedule. A short GIF image reveals the tag line for the event and hints at what we are about to see.

The event will be taglined "Get Ready to Unfold” and if that wasn't clear the short clip shows light dancing as it is coming from inside a foldable phone. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 are coming at 2 PM GMT / 10 AM EST / 7.30 PM IST on August 11.
We also expect to see new Galaxy Buds2 TWS earphones and at least four different Galaxy Watch4 wearables.

Last week, Samsung announced that it would be hosting its next Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11 where it will show off the third iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold. To get people excited for the event, the firm has published a trailer that teases the upcoming foldable phone but not the next Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab, or Galaxy Watch devices that are also expected to make an appearance.

The tag line of the trailer, ‘Is “good” good enough?’, is posed after the narrator runs through previous devices explaining we used to think those devices were good with the aim of normalising the foldable phone format.
The Galaxy Z Fold originally launched for $1,980 and its successor, the Galaxy Z Fold2, was even pricier at $1,999. Despite the speculation above, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Fold3 – or whatever it will be called – fetch a similar price to its predecessors. If the Galaxy Z line continues to fetch such high prices, most people will likely stick to the Galaxy S line.

If you’re a big Samsung fan, you’ve probably already marked your calendar for August 11th, when the company is holding its next Galaxy Unpacked event. Though it has held many events already in 2021, at least this time around it’s one that we’ve been anticipating. In recent years, Samsung has unveiled new Note phones every August. But at this coming Unpacked, the company will not be showing off a new Note. Thanks to the enterprising rumor mill and, well, Samsung itself, we have a good idea of what to expect next Wednesday.

Wearables: New headphones and Wear OS watches
Samsung also already spilled the beans on its upcoming Galaxy Watch running the new Wear OS that it co-engineered with Google.

Galaxy Z Fold 3
Arguably the star of the show, Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The third-generation phone with a foldable display that opens like a book to convert into a tablet from a standard smartphone-like design now works with Samsung's S Pen stylus.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is available to preorder today and officially launches on August 27. It starts at $1799 for 256GB of storage and 12GB of memory -- Double the storage for $1899.

Consider the Z Flip 3, the mainstream consumer foldable phone. It flips up just like flip phones from 15 years ago, unveiling a 6.7inch display. The cover screen is 1.9inches and makes it easy to glance at alerts quickly.

Galaxy Buds 2
Samsung announced a new pair of wireless earbuds aimed directly at competing with Apple's AirPods. The $149 Buds 2 go on sale on August 27, come in four different colors, and work exclusively with Samsung's Galaxy devices. The Buds 2 have active-noise cancelation and an ambient mode so you can listen to music or a podcast while also hearing your surroundings.

Battery life is 5-hours while using ANC, or 7.5-hours with ANC off. The charging case adds another 20-hours of battery.

Earlier today, Samsung posted a cryptic tweet, giving us our first official detail about an upcoming event. Now, Samsung has become less coy and announced that it will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event next month in August. It has even attached a familiar teaser image, showing off a foldable phone.

After lots of leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally announced that its Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 10.
It appears that it will not take place in person but will instead be a virtual event that will take place starting at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT.

While Samsung has not given details about what will be announced at the event, it offered a teaser image, which clearly shows a Galaxy Z Flip. The image leaves a lot to the imagination, only showing off the side profile of the phone. Furthermore, it is shown off in what looks to be a slightly darker lilac color, which we have reported in the past to be a new color, Bora Purple.

Samsung's first Unpacked event of 2023 takes place February 1st

The rumors were true, apparently. Samsung has announced that its first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2023 will take place February 1st at 1PM Eastern. And unlike last year's events, the company is comfortable with an in-person presentation — it's inviting the media to The Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco. Samsung hasn't said what to expect, but it's not-so-subtly teasing a Galaxy S23 launch between a likely triple-camera teaser in the invitation (above) and the nature of its pre-order plans. Americans can reserve the future Galaxy devices on February 1st. Those who sign up for the reserve system by that day will get $50 in Samsung Credit if they pre-order one device, or $100 if they snap up two.

As for what the Galaxy S23 will entail? Leaks have suggested Samsung will drop the Exynos chips it frequently uses in some markets in favor of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The S23 Ultra might also pack a 200-megapixel main camera in place of the 108MP sensor from last year's model, while the regular S23 and S23+ models might have 50MP cams.

Galaxy S23 Ultra
If the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s main appeal was its Note-style pen functionality, the S23 Ultra may revolve around its camera system. Rumors from leaker Ice Universe and others have long pointed to the highest-end S23 model sporting a 200-megapixel main camera, and Samsung added fuel to the discussion by unveiling a sensor that could fit the bill.

Samsung’s more mainstream smartphones aren’t expected to receive as dramatic an update, but there could still be meaningful improvements.

Samsung Announces New Galaxy S23 Ultra With 200-Megapixel Camera

All three devices feature AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, and the Ultra has an edge-to-edge display similar to prior-generation models. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is equipped with a new 200-megapixel wide-angle camera, while the other two models use 50-megapixel cameras. There is also a 10-megapixel zoom camera, 12-megapixel ultra wide camera, and 12-megapixel front-facing selfie camera on each device.

Samsung says that the camera in the Ultra is tailored for "nearly any lighting conditions," and is designed to provide "incredible detail." Nightography has been improved for sharper images and videos that have less noise in low-light conditions, and there is a new image signal processing algorithm that enhances color and detail.
