A late reply. Thanks @anon ! I waited and finally got it today when manually checking for an update via the internal updater. You were also right about the fixed Samsung_Magician_5_3_1_Installation_Guide_v2.6.pdf Maybe that name change 'Samsung Electronics United Kingdom Ltd.' to 'Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.' has to do with Brexit but that is only a wild guess.
Samsung Magician 6.0.0 released today. https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/
As usual: We apologize for your inconvenience Please try again within 24 hours There is a daily limit on the number of the updated software. Unfortunately, the download limit for the day has been reached, please try again within 24 hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused you. You can still download the previous version of Magician. Thank you. Do you happen to have the file?
Unfortunately not. Check later on in softpedia or majorgeeks: https://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/Samsung-SSD-Magician.shtml https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/samsung_ssd_magician.html
Major Geeks has it on their servers now! https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/samsung_ssd_magician.html
Since the Samsung Magician update downloads are always throttled, would a kind soul please publish the hashes, or better yet, the VirusTotal report of the 6.0.0 installer? Thank you kindly.
Samsung Magician v6.0.0.100 CRC32: 92B4238E MD5: C6C474E811C5B00A02C03C540D835BEF SHA-1: 499F9B26EFDE89FB42523624200F4BBC106B7F0C I got it from MajorGeeks as it is down on the Samsung website. I assume it's the same.
Hello @Ultra Male They are not down - they throttle. Доверяй, но проверяй I too hold Major Geeks in high regard. Does VirusTotal show that the installer is digitally signed and counter-signed? Thank you.
If you don't trust them then wait for Samsung's server to work again and stop creating drama over such small things
Samsung Magician v5.3 & v6.0 RAM usage: v5.3 = 8.7 MB + 0.4 MB + 0.3 MB v6.0 = 77.6 MB + 0.2 MB + 0.1 MB
Hello @Ultra Male May you never be disappointed with an alternate download. If Samsung published their hashes, many more of us would be perfectly happy with alternate downloads. Cheers
v6 installer downloaded from https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/download/tools/ During installation, the SamsungRapidApp.exe detected from Avira as TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 Trojan Code: 09/24/2019 [INFO] FP reports status 'NO False Positive' for file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Magician\Rapid\Temp\Rapid\Win7_i386\RAPID\CacheFilter\SamsungRapidApp.exe' [I:10, S:111] 09/24/2019 [DETECTION] Is the TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 Trojan! C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Samsung Magician\Rapid\Temp\Rapid\Win7_i386\RAPID\CacheFilter\SamsungRapidApp.exe [INFO] The file will be copied to quarantine! Most probably it's a FP. File submitted to Avira Labs for further analysis.
Yikes! Though you may not have noted the size of the v5.3.1 driver, what is the driver size in v6.0.0? Thank you.
I was having computer delay issues, and I just discovered that it was the new Samsung Magician v6.0.0.100. I closed it, and the delays stopped.

I am actually curious about this diagnostic scan. Driver Magician 6 says that my Evo 850 does not support it so which drives do?
There's a list of drives at the following link. https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/magician/#ge_semi_anchor_stand3 Your drive should be supported. It's usually only OEM models which are come pre-installed in some brand name computers, that aren't supported. Edit: I reread what you wrote. My 840 EVO, also does not support the diagnostic scan. I initially thought you were referring to the drive not being supported at all in the software.
