    AV-C's review did not have very much coverage of how well SnS provides protection. Instead AV-C's review heavily concentrated on the cosmetics of SnS -- GUI, features, etc. In other words, AV-C's write-up was mostly just a "review" and most certainly NOT a "test."

    By the way I still haven't had any reply from the proponents of SnS as to what happened to my $9.95. Why do I always pick the week-ends to get involved with this kind of silliness? :p

    I am currently waiting for PE Guard to get signed for x64. I'm not sure how PE Guard is compared to SnS. Could anyone please share their experience? I can't currently test PE Guard on my own computer so I can't tell.

    If you are still looking for a good anti-executable you can use try this for free:
    http://forums.comodo.com/defense-sa...t-security-as-an-antiexecutable-t60303.0.html
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=279205&highlight=comodo executable

    There is any changelog or version history of Safe'nSec?

    EDIT:
    Never mind, I have just seen that is not compatible with vista sp2, win7, or x64 systems. I think that the development must be almost freeze.

    EDIT2:
    I have downloaded the manual and seems to be compatible with x32/x64 systems until Vista sp1. I dont understand how they can have the website so outdated http://www.safensoft.com/download/sns2009/

    Here seems that you can get SnS for free:
    http://register.avanquest.com/ABSOF...strement_presse/register_cov_gd.cfm?idcgd=212

    It's a generic activation
    Still works?

    Still no reply from the proponents of SnS. They have my money. I have a useless activation key. I sent them multiple messages but no reply. It seems that nobody at SnS is watching the store.

    I thought that a review by AV-C was at least a small indicator that this is a reliable company. So far... not so. Maybe I will hear back from them today, I hope. For some reason this credit card charge is still in "pending" status. If & when the charge takes effect, I suppose I must put this transaction into "dispute" status.

    By the way - if this is a typical situation, it would be a real problem to get any tech support for SnS I think.

    Not all of those. I sent it to all the safensoft.com addresses - sales, support, etc. I also submitted a support ticket via their website.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    AFAIK it's Monday night at their locale (Cyprus? Russia?) right now, so let us see what tomorrow (their time) brings. They had part of Sunday & all of today (Monday) to reply, but 2nd-business-day tech support is not altogether horrible so I shall reserve opinion until end of Tuesday (their time).
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    By the way, I have heard from IBK. He is monitoring this situation & has offered to check into it, in due course, if needed. I am greatly impressed by the ethics & sincerity of IBK & his organization! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

    Sorry for Off Topic reply (got warm PM's and responses because of a post in this thread)

    Neuro sergeons could noy find a reason for post-rugby accident troubles, so they send me to Orthopedics. Specialist recignised it immediately: two frozen shoulders. Thursday some test to decide whether surgery (10%) or fysiotherapy (90%) will be used to start treatment. :thumb:

    Will take some time, but fair chance of reasonable recovery is possible. Orthopedic could pin-point through reduced musscle tissue exactly what the lasting damage of the rugby accident will be:
    - some reduced strenght and micro coördinaton of right thumb and pink (Dutch) or pinky (in US-English?)
    - some reduced strenght in right knee
    - reduced strenght in right shoulder specifically butterfly lift (up) and swimming movement press (down).

    This 'damage' can be perfectly explained how it happened (when maul collapsed). When making contact with opponent and securing the ball, it is normal to shield the ball at inside of right leg with right arm (when you are right handed), it is also the normal 'fork' manner one holds the ball in one hand to make it available for your team mates, securing it side ways with thumb and pinky at different sides and pressing it to the groud with three middle fingers (sort of simular how one holds a PC mouse).

    All and all I am very happy, within two years I could reach decent level of fitness again. :thumb: Only downside is that wife does not allow high-testeron sports ever (motor bike racing and rugby) :D But after this close call I won't press my luck for it :D

    Regards Kees

    Your good news is NOT off-topic because I feel certain that you are getting your frozen shoulders thawed so that you will be healthy enough to test-drive SnS so as to answer the question which is the topic of this thread. ;)

    But seriously, that is grrreat news! And I am 100% in agreement with your wife -- no more high risk sports. Please take up knitting or chess or piano lessons. This forum would be a much less instructive/adventurous place without our resident guru... namely you.

    Kees, at least get out the pedal bike whenever you can. The Dutch are, after all, enthusiastically pro cycling. As long as you watch for those crazy motorists, you should be okay :) We've got a great pathway system here in Calgary I use frequently. These forums do need a lounge :( Admins, what do ya say ;) @Bellgamin, I understand your monetary frustrations, but I'll bet I've wasted more than you on foolish (not suggesting yours was foolish..heh, heh :cautious: ) software expenditures. Still, it's never really bothered me too much; it's all part of on-going retail therapy anyway :D

    The SnS support folks helped me do a "manual activation" so I now have successfully activated SnS. After some use, however, I have decided to keep SnS on one of my secondary images instead of using it as my primary HIPS.

    Background:

    When first installed SnS looked at pretty much everything installed on the system drive but evidently did not examine anything on my other drives.

    Ergo, when I used apps or files from my other drives, SnS did pop-up alerts. Clicking "Execute" (SnS's version of "Allow") did NOT enable the app to run because the app had already given up. In some cases it almost seemed that SnS had "broken" the app because I had to restart it more than just once.

    Other than the first look at the system drive done by SnS at installation, I couldn't find a "learning" mode, so SnS was screwing up my whole daily routine because of its pop-ups & the apps it broke.

    No doubt SnS might work better if I took the time to work my way through its rather steep learning curve, but I'm not interested in investing any more time on SnS right now -- after all, the time I spent messing with activation keys, repeated installs/uninstalls, watching LnS repeatedly do its lengthy first screens of system drive, and emailing back & forth with LnS support, already added up to a total of over 3 hours. For now, enough is enough.
