Firefox silently installed a Windows Live plugin and I figured how to remove it and deleted the registry entries related to it, but I'm not sure about this plugin registry entry.

    It's located in HKLM(and HKCU)/SOFTWARE/MozillaPlugins/@microsoft/GENUINE.

Safe to delete from the registry?

You could try analyzing with CCleaner. If it shows as safe to delete it's probably okay. You can save any registry key by exporting (right-click>export and save). If you discover you need it later, you can put it back (right-click>merge). If you got rid of the plugin and most of the registry entries, you could just leave it unless you've got a really good reason for deleting it. :)
