Sometimes the Prevx floating browser "tool bar" disappears. I'm using IE 8 and Windows XP Pro-SP3, and when I first open IE, the Prevx tool bar appears; however, if I minimize the browser window, it doesn't always show up again when maximized later. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and how did you get the toolbar to re-appear ?

The only way I've been able to make the toolbar re-appear, is to close IE 8, and re-start it. That's a real pain.

Also, it would be nice to be able to place the floating toolbar where I want it, or to make it part of another permanent toolbar on my browser. Does anyone know if there's a way to do this ?

    Thanks for your help/feedback !

    Hello :)
I suspect the fix may answer both of your questions. Could you try clicking on the browser tab and then click/drag the window that is opened below to reposition the tab? It is likely that it is falling behind the active window but moving it to somewhere else may allow it to show properly.

    Let me know your results!

Hello and thanks for your quick response.

I'm not sure I follow your instructions. When you say click on the browser "tab", I'm assuming you mean the tab for the web page I have open. But, if I only have one web page open (1 tab), there's nothing to reposition.

The floating toolbar disappears on me, seemingly un-related to how many web pages I may have open at the time; even when there's only one page open. It seems to me to be ony related to minimizing/maximizing the browser window.

If I've misunderstood your instructions, please clarify for me.

    Thanks for your help !

Click on the Prevx tab to open a window and drag the Prevx window to where you want the Prevx tab to be!

    Hello,

I tried what you suggested, and now I can get the Prevx tab in the location I want it.

Do you know how to fix my other problem, which is completely losing the tab, when I minimize the browser then maximize it again ?

    Thanks for your help !

I suspect this may be the intended behavior - when the browser is maximized, the Prevx tab hides itself as it assumes the user is wanting full screen realestate to work on their web pages. Having the browser nearly full screen but "restored" will let the tab still show.

Let me know if you see anything different!

    Hi,

I did as you suggested. I reduced the size of my browser window to slightly less than full screen (Prevx floating toolbar still visible), then I minimized it by use of the "minimize" button (top right of the browser window). When I restored it, the Prevx floating toolbar is gone, just like before.

    Any more suggestions ?

    Thanks.

Could you let me know if you use any browser extensions/addons that modify the browser graphically (like a toolbar that changes the skin of the browser?)

Fundamentally, if the browser tab isn't showing, protection is still loaded behind-the-scenes. It would appear that this is more of a graphical issue than an underlying problem but if there is something we can fix, I'd certainly be interested in correcting it.

    Thanks! :)

I have the following browser items installed:

    1. Roboform Tool Bar
    2. PDF Conversion Toolbar
    3. Wolfram Toolbar
    4. Google Toolbar
    5. HP Print Enhancer & Smart BHO Class for Web Printing
    6. McAfee Phishing Filter
    7. SurfMatch Helper Object Class
    8. MS Groove GFS & Folder Synchronization
    9. Skype for IE
    10. Dell CBHO
    11. Java Plug-In 2 SSV Helper
I do not have any skins, and I don't know which of the above may impact the graphics for the browser.

    Thanks

Basically the Prevx Icon disappears from my Chrome browser after a while of surfing multiple tabs and shuffling them quickly.. :)

I am quite convinced that it is not a problem with extensions.

I have experienced similar problems with Chrome 6 (at that time) without any extensions installed.
ofcourse there were some plugins (flash, java), but they can't interfere with browser graphically.

    @SevenMichael
Just a suggestion, try the same thing with "Internet Explorer (No-Addons)"

I have the same annoying problem. In Chrome and IE8 the Prevx safeonline tab will simply not move by clicking and dragging it elsewhere. It seems permanently fixed. The place for IE8 is OK, but on Chrome it is in the top right of the browser and too far away from the address bar where I want to be able to quickly see its colour coding. Any suggestions please?

First click on the bar so that a window like the one below shows up. Then drag this window to whatever spot you want in your browser. Good luck!
