Router port forwarding

    I am setting up port forwarding on a VPN router (Netgear FVS318N). On other routers the port forwarding is fairly straightforward. On this router, you have to first set up a service, then forward that service on a different configuration page. Can anyone explain why it would be like this on this router?
    Does it have to do the VPN capability?
