Yea this was the case but has been taken care of. I think this list is not bad for Rollback 1st release. I think the next will be much better. They really seem to listen to user input.

    Thanks,

    Chris

That is strange Erik. I think people should want to hear one or many suggestions/improvements about a software. Your always welcome to give input for Rollback :)

    Thanks,

    Chris

Just some notes on this, Chris,

Actually I like the way FD-ISR shares data between snapshots much better, it keeps the data out of the snapshot database and the result is that shared data doesn't need to be copied at all when you switch to another snapshot.
I stopped using EF/RB's shared data feature because at every snapshot switch it copies the data to the current snapshot.
I forgot about it, but this might be a suggestion for improvement.

I prefer that Peter2150 gets the credit for this suggestion.

Thank you for taking care of these suggestions, Chris.

So it doesn't even keep track of it in the current snapshot? Not sure if I follow you.

    Thanks,

    Chris

It's not a question of keeping track as much as the data/files are on the disk and available to all snapshots. There is only one copy of the anchored data.

Oh so the snapshot just points to this anchored data basically?

    Thanks,

    Chris

By putting together all the informations that our inside contact give us, we might succeed to know what's going on... ;)

    I'm sorry that I wasn't clear.
The shared data in FD-ISR (anchored data) is functioning exactly like a independent or external partition. It's left alone as a separate entity even if it looks like being part of the snapshots.
Where EF/RB has multiple copies of the data in each and every snapshot and is updating the files when you restore to a different snapshot.

Wilbert I tip my hat to you. Keeping the functional differences straight in you mind can be mind boggling.

    Cheers,

    Pete

It's not unusual to sell ONE software under different names. They do the same thing with refrigerators, why not with softwares.

Well I do know that HDS has the forum http://www.horizondatasys.com/forums/ do the others? I say HDS but who knows, not a big deal as long as they support it and continue developing it.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I don't know who had once the original idea to create a software like RollbackRx.
Frankly, I'm not happy with all these clones because of the lack of creativity.
I wished Addlogix and EazFix were total different snapshot softwares, like FirstDefense-ISR and RollbackRx.

    Hey,

on their homepage they only compare to Norton GoBack, but I don't think to the newest available version from Symantec..

And I hope after they release Version 8, they compare to even more other software, which does the same, like FirstDefense-ISR from Raxco..

    best regards,

    iNsuRRecTiON
