(I am a Chinese Junior high school students. And my English is not very well.So I have some troubles in my posts.)
I have seen some posts about some Chinese AVs,like Rising, Jiangin, Kingsoft, Twister and so on.I want to tell you some about them.
Rising has the highest share in China. It has over 80 million Chinese users.Followed by Kaspersky,Norton and so on.Jiangmin and Kingsoft ever had the second and third share in China. But now, they don't.
Twister has many fans in China. But nobody know its exact share. It is like a dark horse. And also, it has great futures.Twister V8 will release soon.
Rising 2010 beta has released.Acording to the test,it has some changes. But download the 2010 beta is difficult.
Jiangmin had free edition just now.you can google for it.
Kingsoft is famous for its office software. But its AV is good as well. Its cloud system is fast. You can have a try.
    OK,my English is limited.So I can't tell more.

    Must agree with this :thumb:

Wanna-be tester has to register for a rising account before filling out the beta application form, which is only available 10am-2pm UTC+8 from 23th to 27th June.

Btw I can't find any "free edition" of Jiangming?

Here are some screenshots of RISING 2010:

Rising looks great as always. Any info if Active Defense also works on 64bit systems? This is the main reason why i never used Rising. Otherise it's pretty good and latest 2010 looks even better.

    @ljk5464,

Thanks also for sharing your information.
I'm using Rising's, and I'm very comfortable with their software (despite the free/trial license issues).:thumb:

Jiangmin supports 64bit platform. So I searched and i haven't seen any complain on its functionality, while there are posts inquiring when will rising provide full function support for 64bit.

if you are interested, why not ask them yourself. drop them a email.

Note: give a look at the their front page TITLE, they seem to be providing a 90D free trial period. It's worth a try.
Sadly they didnt say if the English installer is for 64bit or 32bit:blink: . better inquire first... and good luck :p

Hiya, Let me tell you something interesting about Rising. ( If you are a fan of it, just take this as a joke and it will make you feel better, ;) )

Many Chinese users of foreign anti-virus call Rising x星 or 娱乐杀软(the anti-virus dedicated to entertainment). They have their reasons, because in the domestic market, Rising has many scandals in the past and now, and tends to boast its new product is super but without concrete technical details,( this may explain why it enjoys the biggest market share in domestic av market, while most of its users are computer newbies) and finally there turns out to be some simple work around to disable/bypass its new features. Some domestic hackers and anti-virus fans just enjoy doing this, though i couldn't explain why. I hope it didn't and will not make the same mistake in oversea market.

What's more Jiangmin used to have police department background. I dont know much about rising, but the recent MicroPoint-Rising scandal(the key figure is the director of the peking internet censoring department) suggested that rising have a strong connection too.
Just think about green dam, and the china-made-router-assumption in the Register's report, you know what i mean. Try them as you like, but better not use it in the company. ;)

ummm....anecdotal hearsay as a marketing tool....good and i thought av's were used and sold on the basis of detection/ease of use/features

You wouldn't think that if you met my friends...
Until I enlightened them, 95% of them used and bought their av's on the basis of price.

Well, i have good experience with Rising and as far as its working well, i don't really care about scandals. It has very nice GUI, decent detection (from my last tests), updates regulary and isn't exactly heavy. So i really can't complain over it.
